Carbon Zero Delivery

I'm really happy to say we have managed to organise Carbon Zero Delivery to offer to all of our customers.

Outlined below is how it works! :)

Carbon Zero Delivery

Our ethical stance doesn’t stop when we send your products. We’re working in conjunction with co2balance.com, offering CarbonZero delivery on every single product we stock.

We all know that vehicles on the road produce emissions which harm the environment. What we aim to do is offer you a way to offset those emissions, making your delivery CarbonZero.

Every time you order a product, we’ll give you a chance to show your commitment to the environment by ticking a box to add CarbonZero delivery to your item. The cost per item is 50p and you can add it to as many products as you wish. Your 50p will cover the cost of making your delivery CarbonZero, to anywhere in the UK.

co2balance.com have looked at our delivery service and evaluated its carbon footprint, which means, in simple terms, the impact our delivery service has on the environment. Your 50p will offset carbon emissions through a range of co2balance.com’s carbon saving projects around the world.

You will receive an email from co2balance.com to certify that the emissions of the delivery have been offset.

Blackberry Picking Near Fowey

We live in Cornwall, near Fowey, quite high up, and overlooking the Sea.

Around us, we have a couple of small farms, a dairy one, one that grows crops, and sells eggs, and a couple of fields are used for organic local beef.

It's that time of year, where the sun is still out and shining some days, but the Autum is on it's way, which means, down the small lanes, and along the pathways between fields Blackberries are often found, in abundance.

I went out earlier this evening with my father, for a walk- with a couple of bags for any potential blackberries. It's a route we often walk in the early evening, and we had seen the blackberries a number of times.

Walking down between the high hedges we turned down a path, going down a steep path next to some fields, we looked for the distintive signs, but could see none, it would seem someone else had had the same idea, in the last day or two.

Regardless, we walked on, determined to find balckberries, which we did... In nettle bushes, up high above our heads, hidden behind leaves, the sort of places, some people miss, or choose not to put their hand!

I think we spent about an hour and a half out, looking carefully, the walk only normally takes about 30 mins, so lots of time spent investigating!

We did find quite a few, here is a picture of some we bought back.

The blackberries were rather rapidly made into a homemade blackberry and
